Brenda Perry makes tintype prints of actual crime-scene photos taken in Juarez, Mexico. She calls them
modern postmortem portraits and uses them to honor the dead and document the plight of Juarez working class. My favorite part of this project is the reallocation of the idea of a postmortem portrait using a darkroom process (tintype) which is historically significant to the documentation of the working class.
